Remember when I said I’d post some images of my collection? Behold: LEGO Hogwarts!

Side note: I need a better word for my large amount of toys, collectible, etc. Collection sounds a bit… Serial-killer-y

How am I spending my first day of my little break? Chilling and messing around with my collection of Transformers. That right there is my favorite Autobot, Wheeljack (Not counting Rung from the More Than Meets The Eye comic, seriously I don’t care that his alt mode was classified as an “Ornament” I want a toy of my favorite ship’s counselor! Sorry Couselor Troy, but Rung wins.)

One of these days I’ll get around to posting pics of my various collections. I’m just lucky that Tess thinks that Legos can be acceptable housing decor XD

Anonymous asked: i take it you dont like fedora shamming

nintendogal55:

Of course I don’t. I like fedoras. They’re cool hats.

But despite that, it wasn’t the issue. What I didn’t like was the fact that Rarity’s statement was taken out of context. The joke wasn’t even funny or made any contextual sense. Since when does liking vintage somehow relate to being a hipster? Because it’s no longer mainstream?

image

Since WHEN? No, really, since when?

Because I have the definition of vintage here.

vin·tage

noun

1.the wine from a particular harvest or crop.
2.the annual produce of the grape harvest, especially with reference to the wine obtained.
3.an exceptionally fine wine from the crop of a good year.
4.the time of gathering grapes, or of winemaking.
5.the act or process of producing wine; winemaking.
6.the class of a dated object with reference to era of production or use: a hat of last year’s vintage.

So, where in any of those SIX DEFINITIONS does it relate to being a hipster? Well? I’m waiting.

This joke just falls completely flat on all levels. Even if it’s trying to mock being a hipster, that doesn’t work, either. Nothing about the original context relates to the hipster attitude or is something bad.

Very very true. Besides, fedoras are cool! Like bow ties and fezs!

Side note: I used to own a fedora…. though my wife may have burned it. Alongside my pinstripe slacks and my derby cap…

Anonymous asked: how do you introduce yourself to someone new?

nintendogal55:

Uh….

XP That really changes depending on the situation. For starters, I am incredibly shy in real life and have trouble taking initiative to talk to people. I only ever end up introducing myself if they ask my name.

And I’ve lost count how many times people thought I said “Sandra.”

But online? Well, that’s a whole different ballgame. Since my username is always displayed whenever I make a post, send a message, or what have you, that essentially becomes the way I end up doing it. Plus it depends how I’m reaching them, why I’m reaching them, and so forth.

So, it heavily depends. But I always make a point to be pleasant and polite while doing so. :)

Even if I have immense trouble looking people in the eye. XP

I have the exact same problem… except I’ve lost count of how many people think I said my name was “carrot” X’D

Seriously? Carrot? My name is Cary. C-A-R-Y. Have you never seen an old movie? Cary Grant. Huge movie star. Same friggn’ name!
